MOUNT CARMEL, Ill. – The Lady Warriors volleyball team celebrated their Sophomores Monday night but fell in a tough five set loss to Rend Lake College.
All home Wabash Valley athletic events streamed by the school will no longer require a subscription. Effective with the 2023 fall seasons, Warrior and Lady Warrior home games are free to watch on You Tube. Games will be streamed through the schools' national award-winning campus television station, News Channel 15.
A total of 35 Wabash Valley student-athletes have been named to the 2023 NJCAA All-Academic team. To qualify, they must have a GPA between 3.70-4.00 on a 4.0-point scale. A total of 17 athletes were named to the First Team, and had a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Four more Warrior student-athletes have been named to NJCAA All-American teams. Two were named to the first team, the sixth consecutive year a Warrior athlete has been so honored.
ESPN, the world-wise leader in sports, will broadcast the Wabash Valley baseball and softball games against Lake Land this weekend. Both doubleheaders have been selected as the NJCAA Game of the Week. It's baseball on Saturday at 12-noon, and then softball on Sunday, at 12-noon. ESPN came to WVC for the first time on Jan. 7 for the women's basketball game between the Lady Warriors and Three Rivers, Mo.
The NJCAA implemented its Plan of Action this week, which will alter the sports program at Wabash Valley for the upcoming 2020-21 seasons. Here is an overview of the changes, by sport, for WVC's six athletic teams.
The NJCAA Academic Team for the 2019-20 academic year has been released, and Wabash Valley College is proud to announce that 36 Warrior and Lady Warriors student-athletes received this national honor, for having a GPA of 3.6 or higher during the year. Congratulations!
