Wabash Valley College Bass Team Signs Ty Leak of Flora, Illinois

Wabash Valley College Bass Coach, Todd Gill, is excited to announce the signing of Ty Leak for the 2024–2025 collegiate bass season. Leak signed on Monday, April 22nd at Wabash Valley College.

Ty is the son of Ryan and Karyn Leak and Jennifer Robbins of Flora, Illinois. He is a senior at Flora High School and fishes on the ICASSTT series, Student Angler Federation, Major League Fishing High School Series, and Southern Illinois All Stars. Ty has accumulated 8 wins within the Flora Club during his high school career and won team of the year two of those four years. He qualified for sectionals all four years and finished 1st in 2022 qualifying him for state where he finished 30th. He finished 12th out of 95 boats at Newton Lake last year. He will be fishing in the World Finals on Lake Hartwell in June with the Student Angler Federation.

Ty's favorite lake to fish on is Newton Lake. He enjoys flipping, cranking, and frogging. Outside of fishing, he enjoys deer and turkey hunting and playing sports. Ty's planned major is Agronomy with a potential minor in Ag Business. His goals as an angler during college are to learn new fisheries and techniques, to improve in areas he is weak at, and to help the team achieve their team goals. Ty is excited about his opportunity to be a part of the Wabash Valley College Bass Team.
