Warriors win on the road at Kaskaskia

Warrior Fans, don't look now, but the Wabash Valley Men's Basketball Team has won 12 of their last 15 games, and are just 2 games out of 1st Place in the Conference, with 3 weeks remaining in the regular season. The Warriors will be looking to pick up their fifth win in a row as they take on Conference Opponent Rend Lake College, at home, on Wednesday night.

On Saturday, the Warriors won at Kaskaskia College 88-72.  Freshman Guard Marcus Garrett led WVC with 26 points, followed by Austin Trice, who recorded his 16th double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.  Tyresse Williford had 14 points and Anthony Christian would add 11.  The Warriors got good minutes from Marcel Cherry off the bench with 12 points.

Following Saturday's win, Wabash Valley Head Coach Mike Carpenter said "We're playing well right now, and are hopeful to get Jordan Bell back soon, after missing the last 4 games with an injury. We're doing a nice job moving the ball and getting good shots for each other. Freshman Josh Thomas had one of his best games, dishing out 11 assists. If we continue sharing the ball and defending like we've been, we'll hopefully peak at the right time. We have a huge 3 weeks coming up and have fought to put ourselves in a good position, as Tournament time approaches."
