Lady Warriors thrash Logan to remain undefeated

CARTERVILLE, Ill. -- Wabash Valley College women's basketball continued their early season dominance, remaining undefeated by defeating Great Rivers Athletic Conference foe John A. Logan 104-63 on the road on Saturday, Dec. 1.

The team boasted a 45-28 halftime lead and would expand on that lead in the second half. The Lady Warriors (9-0) would outscore Logan 59-35 en route to the 41 point victory.

 

Despite shooting just 39.8 percent from the field in contrast to Logan's 40.4 percent, the Lady Warriors were immensely active in the game. They forced 25 steals in the game and grabbed 36 offensive rebounds, leading to an astounding 46 more shots than their foe on night.

Five Lady Warriors registered double digits scoring in the game, led by freshman Keya Patton who scored 20 points and added five rebounds and a team-high seven steals. Joining Patton was sophomore Alexis Thomas with 17 points, sophomore Jordyn Dawson scored 14 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double, sophomore Dazha Congleton scoring 11 points and sophomore Marie Hunter adding 10 points in the victory.

 

Their next game will be a doubleheader at Wabash Valley College on Saturday, with the women's team playing first at 4 p.m. against Shawnee, followed by the men's at 6 p.m.
