Anna Eicke Wins United Soccer Coaches All American Award

We would like to announce another post season award for the WVC Women's Soccer Team. Sophomore CM Anna Eicke, from Germany, has won United Soccer Coaches Scholar All American. On top of being named Second Team All Region, she gets to add to her hardware collection while playing at WVC.

"I couldn't think of someone more deserving of the award," said coach Patrick "she has worked incredibly hard these past two years for us and her hard work has paid off."

Anna is 1 of 22 women nationwide who won the award. Qualifications for the award include: Have at least 3.30 cumulative grade point average throughout their career, be an elite player as supported by playing honors and contributions to the team in community service.

In the team's short history every year they have been recipients of the Team Academic Award. This award is given out to teams who collectively have a composite team grade point average of at least 3.0. Also, the team has been top 15 for grade point average for the last 4 years for women's soccer.

"As serious as we take our soccer, we also consider academics just as important." said coach Patrick "By having great student's in the classroom it allows us to be more successful out on the pitch."
