EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The No. 15 NIACC softball split a pair of contests Friday at the Midwest Juco Bash.
NIACC (12-2 overall) dropped a 13-10 decision to Wabash Valley College and the Trojans bounced back with a 8-0 five-inning win over Danville Area CC.
In the game against Wabash Valley College, NIACC pounded out 12 hits to score its 10 runs, including four home runs. Emily Jones, Sydney Toman, Ravyn Krachey and Shaye Theobald all homered for the Trojans.
NIACC scored six of its 10 runs in the fifth inning.
In the win over Danville Area CC, sophomore right-hander Laken Lienhard (4-0) tossed a two-hit shutout with three strikeouts and three walks in her five innings of work. Lienhard also homered in the 8-run victory (her fourth of the season and 18th of her career).
NIACC scored in four of the five innings, including three runs in the first inning.
Brynnlin Kroymann, Jones and Krachey all had two hits each for the Trojans.
NIACC returns to action Saturday with games against Olney Central College (noon) and Shawnee CC (2 p.m.)
