Benton Goal Leads Bucks to Win over Wabash Valley

Motlow freshman Alysa Benton scored the game-winning goal as the Bucks beat Wabash Valley College 1-0 Friday in Murfreesboro.

The goal came at the 63:50 mark on an assist from sophomore Emily Fisher.

Goalkeeper Lucy Riddle, a freshman from Manchester, played the entire 90 minutes to get the shutout. The Warriors only attempted three shots on goal and Riddle saved all three.

Motlow had 13 shots during the contest while Wabash Valley had 10. The Warriors had eight corner kicks while the Bucks garnered five.

The Bucks are now 1-1 on the young season. Motlow will host Indian Hills Community College, the 17th-ranked team in the nation, on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. at Siegel Park in Murfreesboro.
