Raiders Continue to Swing Hot Bats

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida softball continues to swing some of the hottest bats in the country as the Raiders defeated Calhoun, 10-8, and Wabash Valley, 10-4, Thursday at the Raider Softball Complex.

Northwest Florida 10, Calhoun 8

Calhoun nearly erased a five-run deficit, but Ivey Hill was able to put out the fire in relief to help salvage the victory.

Ashley Autuori and Gabrielle Fischetti went deep as the Raider scored 10 runs on 11 hits, including five extra base hits.

Abby Sulte was 3-for-3 at the dish with a pair of RBIs, while Autuori, BreAnna Corkern and Fischetti each finished with two hits.

Northwest Florida 10, Wabash Valley 4

Sulte and Ariana Cipriano led the charge in the night cap as the duo each collected three hits. Cipriano finished with a double, a pair of triples, and eight total bases. Amber Divine drove in two runs in the winning effort.

Lauren Rase got the start and went five innings before giving way to Hill, who tossed the final two frames without surrendering a run.

The Raiders host Carl Sandburg in a doubleheader Monday at noon.
