WVC's First Bass Team Signing

Wabash Valley College Bass Team Signs First Recruit for Upcoming Collegiate Bass Season

Mount Carmel, Ill.— Wabash Valley College's bass coach, Professor Todd Gill, announced the signing of Clayton Halbig, his first recruit for the inaugural bass team at WVC. Halbig signed on Friday afternoon, Jan. 17.

Clayton Halbig is the son of Craig and Holly Halbig. He is a senior at Mt. Carmel High School and will be competing in his third high school bass season with the Lawrenceville Lunkers this spring. During his high school career, Halbig qualified for and competed in the 2019 Mossy Oak Fishing Bassmaster High School Championship. Halbig plans to study business in college and is excited about his opportunity to be a part of the Wabash Valley College bass team.

High school juniors and seniors that have an interest in a campus visit can fill out the recruiting questionnaire and Coach Gill will contact them to discuss the team and schedule a campus visit.
