Pearson and Kallstrand Finish 4th in Murray State Invitational

In preparation for the Association of Collegiate Anglers Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash held this Saturday and Sunday on Kentucky Lake, several anglers from the Wabash Valley College Bass Team hopped in a school ran invitational hosted by the Murray State University Bass Fishing Team on Thursday, September 21. Out of the 37 boats in the tournament, Caden Pearson and Nathan Kallstrand captured five keepers good for 13.05 lbs., a 4th place finish, and some valuable school of the year points for Wabash Valley College.

Saturday and Sunday, the WVC Bass Team will have nine teams competing in the Big Bass Bash. This is always a fun event to watch as a spectator with anglers searching for one big bite over the two-day event. Weigh-in periods on Saturday are at 9 a.m., 11. a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Paris Landing State Park. Each period will award prizes to the top ten bass brought in to the weigh-in scales. Sunday will have weigh-in periods at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The first two periods will again award the top ten with the final period awarding the top twenty bass with the event crowning an individual champion at the end of the weekend for the biggest bass caught in the tournament.

Competing this weekend for Wabash Valley College are Seth Bailey with Andrew Leonard, Connor Becker with Carter Smith, Mason Gross with Braden Thompson, Gannon Stork with Dalton Phelps, Nathan Kallstrand with Caden Pearson, Brogan Gregg with Peyton Rose, Benny Blank with Hunter Sandschafer, Blake Beckmann with Hunter Russell, and Sam Ausbrooks with Luke Dardeen.
