Wabash Valley College Bass Team Signs Richard Skiff of Edwardsville, Illinois

Wabash Valley College Bass Coach, Todd Gill, is excited to announce the signing of Richard Skiff for the 2024–2025 collegiate bass season. Skiff signed on Wednesday, October 4th at Wabash Valley College.

Richard is the son of Rick and Mandy Skiff of Edwardsville, Illinois. He is a senior at Edwardsville High School and fishes on the ICASSTT series, the MLF Bass Fishing League-Illini Division as a co-angler, and he also competes in some USA Bassin tournaments. Richard has enjoyed fishing for as long as he can remember and has tournament fished all four years in high school. He was two tournament wins on the ICASSTT series at Rend Lake and Clinton Lake. He finished third in the Wheeler Fishing Foundation High School Bass Shootout in 2023 on Lake Chickamauga. He has a 3rd place finish as a co-angler on the MLF BFL series on the Ohio River and finished 20th this season in the Strike King co-angler of the year race for the Illini division.

Richard's favorite lake to fish on is Washington County Lake. Outside of fishing, he enjoys lure making. Richard's fishing goals during his college years include competing on a lot of new fisheries and learning how to catch fish on all of them; he hopes to continue his fishing career beyond college. Richard is undecided on his college major at this point but is excited about his opportunity to be a part of the Wabash Valley College Bass Team.
