Wabash Valley College Bass Coach, Todd Gill, is excited to announce the signing of Ian Fehrenbacher for the 2024–2025 collegiate bass season. Fehrenbacher signed on Wednesday, November 8th at Wabash Valley College.

Ian is the son of Josh and Danielle Fehrenbacher of Newton, Illinois. He is a senior at Newton High School and fishes on the ICASSTT series, with the Newton Club, Newton Winter League, and USA Bassin. Ian has enjoyed fishing for as long as he can remember and has tournament fished all four years in high school. Some of his more recent finishes includes an 8^th place finish at ICASSTT The Clash which qualified him for the National Championship at Lake Hartwell. In September he had a 14^th place finish at Kinkaid Lake and 39^th place at Lake of Egypt out of 92 boats. He fished solo at the Fox Chain of Lakes in October and finished 2nd out of 57 boats and caught the big bass of the tournament. Ian was angler of the year his freshman year and has been in the top 4 on his high school team qualifying for the IHSA Sectionals every year.

Ian's favorite lake to fish on is Newton Lake. Outside of fishing, he enjoys deer hunting, waterfowl hunting, and mushroom hunting. When he cannot be outdoors, he enjoys playing ping pong, shooting pool, and cooking up the wild game he has harvested. Ian's fishing goals during his college years include helping his team out with some good finishes and enjoying competitive fishing while he can. Ian is undecided on his college major at this point but is excited about his opportunity to be a part of the Wabash Valley College Bass Team.
