The Wabash Valley College Bass Warriors Team would like to introduce to you our angler of the month, Caden Pearson. Caden is the son of Kevin and Michelle Pearson of Naperville, Illinois. He is a freshman at Wabash Valley College and is currently majoring in engineering.
Caden has had a very productive transition from the high school to college circuit. He has competed in eight events this fall for Wabash Valley College with an average finish in the top one-third of the tournament field. His best finishes include 4th place in the Murray State Invitational on Kentucky Lake, 8th place on Vandalia Lake and 6th place on Governor Bond Lake with the McKendree University Invitationals. He and Nathan Kallstrand finished 47th out of 250 boats in a Major League Fishing Abu Garcia College Series event on Lake Hartwell and finished up the fall season with a 6th place finish in the Illinois Bassmaster State Championship on Lake Kinkaid. Caden represented Wabash Valley College in the Logan Parks Fishing Foundation High School/College Chaos tournament and finished 8th out of 84 teams fishing with Colson Smith of Alabama. We expect big things from Caden the remainder of his freshman season.
When asked what his favorite lake was to fish on, Caden replied, Kentucky Lake. His favorite memory from the fall season was when his co-angler, Nathan Kallstrand caught a 5 pounder on tournament day at Lake Hartwell. A goal for this season for Pearson is to get qualified for Bassmaster and MLF National Championships. Outside of fishing, Caden enjoys weightlifting.
