Lady Warriors’ season ends in Region 24 Tournament

MOUNT CARMEL, Ill. The Lady Warriors volleyball team saw their season come to a close Friday with a three-set loss to Kaskaskia College in the opening round of the Region 24 Tournament.

Kaskaskia took the opening set 25-16. In the second set, Wabash Valley limited their errors to keep themselves close but ultimately dropped the set 25-18.

Kaskaskia closed out the match in the third with a 25-15 win.

Freshman outside hitter Taylor Pittmann and sophomore outside hitter Hailey Miller led the way offensively for the Lady Warriors, with six and five kills, respectively.

Freshman setter Alyssa Wilke concluded her great season with 19 assists, bringing her season total to 1,013, currently good for 11th most nationally. She added an ace in the contest, bringing her to 55 service aces this season, tied for 22nd most in the country.

Sophomore outside hitter Emmalynn Hart also recorded an ace in the match.

At the net, sophomore middle blocker Madison Farmer led the way with three solo blocks. Freshman middle blocker Alexis Johnson and Pittmann each followed with two solo blocks.

Freshman libero Grace Lenard had 16 digs in the contest, finishing the season with 3.95 digs per set, a team-high and good for 52nd best in the country.

Wabash Valley concludes the season 7-27, with a 4-12 conference record, finishing 7th out of nine teams in the final standings.
