VINCENNES, Ind. -- The season ended Friday for the Lady Warrior volleyball team at the NJCAA Region 24 tournament here.

Kaskaskia pulled away late to take the first game of the match, 25-15. The Blue Angels then used similar routes in 25-21 and 25-20 wins to oust Wabash Valley from the tourney in a three-game sweep.

"We battled," said Lady Warrior coach Mark Colvin after the match. "At the end we got close, we just couldn't close the gap. They just have a couple of people that are hard to handle."

WVC finished 13-18 on the season. Kaskaskia (24-10) advanced to an afternoon semifinal game against Vincennes, which it lost, 3-2.

Madison Hill led the Lady Warrior attack with 12 kills, with Madison Farmer adding nine. Cheaney Archer had 16 sets, while Alexia Villaran finished with 11.

Villaran also added four of the nine WVC aces recorded in the match.

Though the Lady Warriors had 130 team attacks, 18 errors proved costly.
