Lady Warrior Volleyball made a big splash in their recruitment efforts after landing a commitment from one of the top 100 players in the state of Illinois for hitting percentage. Kathyrn Blake, a Mount Carmel native and outsdie hitter, is also one of the top 35 players in 2A with her hitting percentage. She finished her high school career with a hitting percentage of .296. Kathryn had a very successful high school career, along with a successful club volleyball ball career. A commitment like this for Lady Warrior Volleyball is huge, as volleyball made its return to WVC just a few years ago.

Coach Refenes had this to say about Kathryn.

"I'm very excited to welcome Kathryn to Wabash. I have coached her during club ball and she will bring good vibes to the team. She has a fast arm and a lot of range. She will be a reliable outside for us playing all the way around and bring her experience from a successful high school program at Mount Carmel. Kathryn has a great attitude on the court and can help the team in a lot of ways. She's a strong server and her blocking really impressed me this club season. She made a lot of key plays for us at the net. She's going to fit in well with girls and I feel lucky that she will continue her education and volleyball career at WVC."

Kathryn was also first team all conference junior and senior year, IVCA academic all state team, and a member of National Honors society.
