MT. CARMEL, ILL. -- Wabash Valley basketball fans will get an extended look at Isaac Wodajo's first Warrior team with five straight home games to open the 2022-23 season. The schedule features 16 home games, a full Great Rivers Athletic Conference and NJCAA Region 24 slate, a rare two-game non-conference series, as well as the annual Warrior Classic. 

The season opener is set for Wednesday, Nov. 2 against the Greenville University JV team. The tipoff will be at 6 p.m. at Spencer Sports Center. 

Two more home games will complete a busy opening week: the Brescia JV team visits on Friday, Nov. 4 followed by Indiana Elite on Sunday, Nov. 6. 

The Warrior Classic is next, with three teams joining WVC for back-to-back doubleheaders on Nov. 11-12. Lincoln Trail plays Harry S. Truman on Friday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. followed by Wabash Valley vs. Danville Area at 7 p.m. The following afternoon, Lincoln Trail faces Danville Area at 1 p.m. before WVC faces Harry S. Truman at 3 p.m. 

Volunteer State and Wabash Valley will exchange back-to-back visits on Jan. 4 and Jan. 9. The first meeting comes at Spencer, with the next meeting five days later in Gallatin, TN. 

WVC opens GRAC play with a bang on Nov. 22 in a home matchup with defending champion John A. Logan. 

Wodajo's club also welcomes IECC sister schools Lincoln Trail and Olney Central to Spencer on Dec. 3 and Feb. 18, respectively. 

And the final home game of the regular season will come against long-time rival Vincennes on Feb. 25. 

The Warriors return five players from last year's team which finished 19-12, and 7-9 in GRAC play.
