TEAM CAPSULES

Danville Area began the season with a 69-52 win over Olivet Nazarene JV on Nov. 1... Kendall Taylor led the way with 16 points... Jaguars rebound margin of 37 in that game landed them in 11th in the Division II stats... Last year they were Top 10 in that category... Jags were 19-7 last year... They beat WVC 66-58 in Classic last year.

Harry S. Truman comes into the Classic at 0-2... The Falcons lost at Oakton, 77-65, on Nov. 1, and at Wilbur Wright, 71-70, on Nov. 8... Falcons love to let it fly from beyond the arc, they are second in Division I in 3-point field goal attempts (40.0 per game)… They have used only six players in both games... Josiah Hammons has led with a double-double in both games... He had 25/15 vs. Oakton, and 26/15 vs. Wilbur Wright.

Lincoln Trail opened the season in Erlanger, Ky. at the Griffin Sports Elite Classic on Nov. 5-6... The Statesmen dropped two close games to East Mississippi (71-65) and Coahoma (69-67)… LTC bounced back to knock off Three Rivers in home opener, 66-61... In that game the Statesmen grabbed a huge 37-18 lead by halftime and hung on for the win... Greg Jenkins leads the way in scoring, at 16.3 ppg... He has the top scoring game so far (23 points vs. East Mississippi).

Wabash Valley is off to a 3-0 start... Rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to beat Indiana Elite, 92-84, on Nov. 6... They defeated the Greenville JV (135-93) and the Brescia JV (113-82) prior... Third year returnee Deshaun Nettles (a COVID redshirt) has one of the two double-doubles so far... 6-9 sophomore transfer Ksuan Casey has the other... WVC is seventh in Division I in scoring (113.3 ppg), and seventh in shooting (.619).
