INA, Ill. -- The Wabash Valley Warriors snapped a three-game losing streak with a 72-67 Great Rivers Athletic Conference basketball victory over Rend Lake on Wednesday night.

With the win, the Warriors improved to 7-4 overall, and 1-3 in GRAC play. Rend Lake slipped to 2-6 and 0-3.

It took a while for Isaac Wodajo's club to get untracked in this one. WVC trailed, 7-0, after three minutes, but then outscored the hosts 17-4 over the following nine minutes for a 17-11 advantage, one it would maintain the rest of the way.

The Warriors led at halftime, 33-21, then held off Rend Lake down the stretch for the five-point verdict.

Five players landed in double figures for Wabash Valley, led by Ksuan Casey with 17 points. Jakobi Heady wound up with 16 points, Gary Clay 13, Trayton Trice 11, and Deshaun Nettles 10.

Blake McCay led Rend Lake with 25 points.

WVC returns to Spencer Sports Center on Saturday for a GRAC game against Southwestern. Tipoff for the final home game before Christmas is set for 3 p.m.

Rend Lake plays on Saturday at Kaskaskia.
