WVC to face Illinois Central in NJCAA Region 24 championship

MT. CARMEL, Ill. -- Will the third time be a charm for the Wabash Valley women's soccer team? 

Sunday at 12 noon, the Lady Warriors will play at Illinois Central in the NJCAA Region 24 championship game. The winner gains a berth in the NJCAA Central District tournament beginning on Nov. 5, hosted by Region 11 (Iowa). 

Wabash Valley, 6-7-2 on the year and unbeaten in the last five games, reached the championship game by virtue of its' first-ever post-season victory in the four-year history of the program, a 1-0 win over Lincoln Trail on Oct. 24th.

The 16th-ranked Cougars own two 4-1 wins over Wabash Valley this season, the first on Sept. 10 in East Peoria, the second coming 19 days later at WVC.
