On what was a beautiful day for baseball and the start of the last GRAC sereis for the Warriors, the Warriors looked to clinch their seventh straight GRAC championship with a victory. The only obstacle in the way, was the 19th ranked John A Logan Volunteers.

Sophomore pitcer Jackson Soucie got the nod today for the Warriors, and he delivered. Soucie let up one run in the first, but settled down almost immediately. Across the five innings he pitched, Soucie struckout ten batters. Stone Silver and Luke Diekmann pitched in relief for the Warriors. Stone went 2.2 innings and allowed two runs, while Diekmann threw a third of an inning.

On the offensive side for the Warriors, they tallied fifteen hits. Four of the fifteen hits were homeruns. Richard Bonomolo JrKeaton Mahan(2), and AJ Malzone all homered in the game. In his first plate apperance, Mahan hit a two-run homerun and then followed it up with a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth inning. He led Wabash Valley with six RBIs.

The Warriors needed one win in the series to win the GRAC, and they won the game 13-3 in eight innings via the run rule. The Warriors head to Carterville, IL and John A Logan College tomorrow, May 2nd to finish the three game series and finish up regular sesaon play. Wabash Valley will host the region tournament next week.
