Lady Warriors win 8th straight game

MT. CARMEL, Ill. -- Wabash Valley extended its' winning streak to eight games with a 114-41 Great Rivers Athletic Conference victory over Lincoln Trail on Saturday afternoon at Spencer Sports Center. 

The Lady Warriors, No. 14 in the Massey ratings, improved to 8-1 overall, and 2-0 in GRAC play. The win was their 101st straight in the league, and the 91st consecutive on their home court. 

Lincoln Trail fell to 2-9 on the season and 0-3 in the league. 

WVC finished the first quarter on a 9-1 run for a 25-8 lead at the break. In the second quarter, the Lady Warriors added 39 more points for a 64-17 lead by halftime. 

Shaulana Wagner led the Lady Warriors with her season-high and team-best total of 31 points. Three other players joined in double figures: McKaylee Allen with 12 points, along with Kuryn Brunson and Chanteese Craig, both with 11. 

Luke Scheidecker's club heads for Rend Lake and a GRAC game on Wednesday night at 5:00 p.m. The next home game is Saturday, Dec. 10th against Southwestern (1 p.m.).  

WARRIOR NOTES: Wabash Valley now leads the country in four categories: scoring (100.3 points per game), field goals made per game (38.0), free throws made and free throws attempted (20.6 and 28.5)… Lady Warriors are also third in field goal attempts (76.9 p/g) and steals (18.3 p/g)… WVC has now scored over 100 points five times this season.
