OLNEY, Ill. -- Wabash Valley placed six players in double figures in a 106-56 Great Rivers Athletic Conference women's basketball victory over Olney Central here on Saturday afternoon.

The 14th-ranked Lady Warriors, who won their 17th straight game to improve to 17-1 on the season, also eclipsed the 100-point mark for the ninth time. They continue to lead the nation in scoring, averaging 101.4 points per game.

WVC led 30-17 at the end of the first quarter, despite an impressive out court start by the Blue Knights, who hit three of their six 3-point field goals in the opening 10 minutes of play.

By halftime though, the Lady Warriors had doubled the score on Olney Central, leading 58-29.

Shaulana Wagner, who one week earlier set a single-game scoring record with 47 points against 17th-ranked Three Rivers in the NJCAA Game of the Week on ESPN+, bounced back from a season-low output of four points against Jefferson on Wednesday to again lead the Warrior attack with 20 points.

Chanteese Craig scored 12 of her 16 points in the first half. Madison Roshelle also finished in double figures with 13 points. They were joined by Yiesha Williams and Brooklyn Gray with 12 points each, and Trinitee Harris with 10.

Perhaps the brightest spot of the night for the Lady Warriors was their season-best free-throw shooting. Often a sore spot with head coach Luke Scheidecker, they connected on 19-of-22 at the stripe against Olney Central for 86 percent accuracy. Six different players had perfect nights there.

The Lady Warriors improved to 6-0 in the GRAC with their 105th consecutive league win.

Olney Central fell to 3-12 and 0-5 with the loss. The Blue Knights were led in scoring by Gracie Shorter with 12 points.

Wabash Valley returns to Spencer Sports Center on Monday, Jan. 16th to face Shawnee. The Saints were 9-2 and 2-1 pending the outcome of their Saturday GRAC game against Southwestern.

The tipoff at Spencer Sports Center is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CST.
