MT. CARMEL, Ill. -- Shawnee had somehow survived the first wave of Wabash Valley's full-court pressure defense and still held a lead of 15-12 midway through the first quarter.

But that was just the first wave. The relentless Lady Warriors would send many, many more waves just like that, and finally Shawnee was swamped.

WVC proceeded to go on a 40-5 tear that completely changed the narrative of a 102-43 Great Rivers Athletic Conference women's basketball victory on Monday night at Spencer Sports Center.

Luke Scheidecker's club, ranked 14th in the country, improved to 18-1 overall and 7-0 at the half-way point of their GRAC schedule.

Shawnee fell to 10-3 and 3-2 with the loss.

The Warrior win also extended two very long streaks. It was their 106th straight win in GRAC play, and the 95th in a row at home.

Wabash Valley had rallied to a 25-19 lead by the end of the first quarter. In the second frame, things really got away when the hosts outscored Shawnee, 27-1, for a commanding halftime advantage of 52-20.

The lead was 77-30 at the close of the third period, and the Lady Warriors closed things out with their 10th trip past the century mark this season.

Six players landed in double figures for Wabash Valley. Madison Roshelle and Chanteese Craig were both team-high with 15 points. Shaulana Wagner was next with 13, followed by Brooklyn Gray and Zhordan Shannon with 11 points each, and Yiesha Williams with 10.

Shawnee was led by Cheyanne Daniels with 10 points.

The Lady Warriors play at Vincennes (13-7) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. CST, before a return to GRAC play on Saturday at 1 p.m. at John A. Logan (6-9, 2-3).
