Wagner scores 27 to lead Lady Warriors past Lincoln Trail, 87-47

ROBINSON, Ill. -- Shaulana Wagner scored 27 points to lead 13th-ranked Wabash Valley to an 87-47 victory over Lincoln Trail in Great Rivers Athletic Conference women's basketball here on Saturday afternoon. 

The Lady Warriors improved to 21-1 on the year, and 9-0 in the GRAC, where they have now won 108 straight games. Lincoln Trail fell to 3-17 and 1-8 with the loss. 

Joining Wagner in double figures for the winners were: Chanteese Craig with 13 points, and Brooklyn Gray with 10. 

Lincoln Trail was led by Graycie Poe with 19 points. 

The 87 points marked the third-lowest output of the season for the Lady Warriors, who still lead the nation in scoring at 102.8 points per game. 

In fact, WVC leads NJCAA Division I in eight categories, one of which is opponents' turnovers forced by the defense, that average now at 30.4 per game. The Lady Warriors were on the mark again Saturday, causing 33 Lincoln Trail turnovers, 23 coming in the first half. 

Luke Scheidecker's club returns home on Wednesday, Feb. 1 to host Rend Lake (12-6, 7-1) in a GRAC battle of the top two teams in the standings. The tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Spencer Sports Center.
