Lady Warriors win NJCAA Midwest District opener, 100-59, over John A. Logan, advance to semifinal

MATTOON, Ill. -- Brooklyn Gray scored 20 points to lead Wabash Valley to a 100-59 victory over John A. Logan in the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Midwest District women's basketball tournament on Sunday at Lake Land College. 

The 12th-ranked Lady Warriors, who won their 28th straight game since an opening-night defeat, advance on to the semifinal game on Tuesday at 5 p.m. CST against Shawnee, an 82-52 winner over Rend Lake. The eventual champion lands an automatic berth in the NJCAA Division I national tournament beginning Mar. 22 in Lubbock, Texas. 

WVC (28-1) broke the game wide-open in the second quarter by outscoring Logan, 32-7, resulting in a 55-20 lead by halftime. The Lady Warriors' final total of 100 points marked the 18th time they have reached the century mark this season. 

Logan ended its' season with a record of 9-18. 

Five other players joined Gray in double figures. Trinitee Harris scored 15 points, with Madison Roshelle, Shaulana Wagner, and Chanteese Craig at 12 apiece, and Yiesha Williams finishing with 10 points.
