Over the five years, the Lady Warriors have made the NJCAA Women's National Basketball Tournament all five years. Coach Scheidecker informed his team yesterday morning before leaving Casper, WY.
This was Scheidecker's second stint with Wabash Valley. Luke took over the women's program in 2016, after one year at Shawnee Community College. In his first two years with Wabash Valley, he went 61-5, while going 35-1 in the conference. In two stints with the Lady Warriors, Coach Scheidecker has won 201 games, while only losing 19 games. After the first two seasons, Coach Scheidecker headed to Terre Haute, IN to be an assistant coach at Indiana State for women's basketball.
Coach Scheidecker had this to say on his time at Wabash Valley.
"I'm extremely appreciative and grateful for my time at Wabash Valley. The success we've had in the program wouldn't have been possible with great support from the community, faculty, administration and everyone in the athletic department. Wabash Valley will always a special in my heart as they gave me an incredible opportunity to lead this program. The Wabash Valley College community will always be part of our family as we've built lifelong relationships. I can't thank my current and former players and coaches enough for letting me lead them over the course of my 7 years at Wabash Valley. We will miss this community but excited to see the next chapter unfold at Wabash Valley."
The Missouri Western Griffons went 20-10 last season and made an appearance in the NCAA Division Two tournament. The Griffons are part of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association
