Lady Warriors Finish Another Historic Year

The Wabash Valley Lady Warriors finished off another historic year with a 28-2 record and ranked 5th in the country.   Their season came to an end in the second round of the NJCAA Nationals where they were upset against 12th seeded Western Nebraska. 

With a 28-2 season the Lady Warriors were able to improve their program record to 170-14 over the last 6 seasons which is the best record in NJCAA women's basketball during that span. The Lady Warriors also have 99 consecutives GRAC wins, which is the longest held conference winning streak in the country. This year WVC was able to walk away as both the conference and region champions which is their 6th straight for both. As a team they led the country in points per game averaging 88.1  during the season. With that came being 1st in field goals made per game at 33.7 and 3rd in field goal percentage at 46.4% on the year.  The Lady Warriors finished the year ranked Top 10 in both offense and defense efficiency.

On top of the team's success The Lady Warriors were able to produce four members that were selected for the All-Region and All-Conference teams. The group included, Jasmine Elder, averaging 11.2ppg and shooting 31.2% from three. Darlisha Reed who averaged 10.3ppg, 7.2rpg, and shot 57.9% from the field. Daijah Smith was also named to this list while averaging 17.3ppg, 6.1rpg, and shooting 35% from the three. Shaulana Wagner's impressive season also earned her a spot on the list. The guard averaged 12.2ppg, 7.8apg, while leading the country in assist per game. Head coach Luke Scheidecker walked away from this season with three Coach of the Year award as he was named Conference, Region and Midwest District Coach of the Year.
