ESPN is back for Warrior baseball, Lady Warrior softball games this weekend

MT. CARMEL, Ill. -- This weekend, ESPN is returning to Wabash Valley College.

The worldwide leader in sports plans live coverage of Warrior baseball on Saturday and Lady Warrior softball on Sunday, both doubleheaders selected as the NJCAA Game of the Week on ESPN+.

Both teams will host Lake Land in Great Rivers Athletic Conference play. Saturday, the 9th-ranked baseball Warriors entertain the Lakers at 12-noon at Fournier Field. Sunday, the Laker softball team, ranked 17th, visits Schnarre Field for a 12-noon game.

"It is a great opportunity for both baseball and softball to showcase their programs and the success they've had," said Wabash Valley College Athletic Director Luke Scheidecker. "It is a great opportunity for the college. These are exciting times."

On January 7th, ESPN crews came to WVC for the first time ever to broadcast the Lady Warrior basketball team's game with Three Rivers, a game won by the Warriors, 91-75.

As part of a multi-year media rights agreement with ESPN, beginning with the 2022-2023 academic year the NJCAA will have nationally televised championship games for NJCAA Division I Football, Division I Men's Basketball, and Division I Women's Basketball that will air on an ESPN linear network, as well as regular season content on ESPN+.

During the regular season, ESPN+ will exclusively stream 13 NJCAA football games, 25 men's basketball games, 25 women's basketball games, 20 baseball games, and 20 softball games each year of the agreement. In addition to these, the industry-leading sports streaming service will air the NJCAA Division I Baseball and NJCAA DI Softball Championship final games.

To watch live NJCAA content on ESPN+, you need to be a subscriber. If you already have ESPN+, you are all set for watching NJCAA games. If not, you will be required to create a new ESPN+ account.
